During this past weekend's camping trip, we discovered a need for our trailer.  After two hours of trying to get our almost 3 year old DD to sleep, she told us that her bed is "too scary".  The way the bunks are layed out in my TT, they are 75% enclosed, so they do get pretty dark.  We were able to improvise a night light for her bunk and she was fine after that.  I would like to get a more perminant soultion in there.

There are no ac outlets neat the bunk, but each bunk has a dc light.  I was thinking of finding a low wattage bulb to go in the light, or if there is a dc night light available, I could wire that into the dc feed for the light.

Thanks,
Bug

We just use one of those battery operated LED candles.  Uses 2 AA Batteries, and they last for several weekenders.

We bought a battery operated coleman lantern. It has a night light on it.

We have a solar light that is meant to be a floating pool light (UFO shaped.)  Works great when we remember to put it in the sun during the day :)

I also use 2 solar walkway lights as a night light outside our tent when camping, they were $3.00 at Wal-Mart. Actually last night our electric went out, I went out and grabbed a couple from our walkway to put one in each DD's rooms so they had a night light until the electric went back on. I do like the window candle idea though, a lot more dimmer.

Best Regards,
Norm

We use bracelet style glow sticks. (10 for a buck at the Dollar store).  The kids get to play with them just before bed and then we look them either around the Sheppard hook or on the privacy curtain tieback. No worries about batteries, burnt out bulbs, and at a buck a package, we've got about a hundred of them laying around.

I use an round LED illuminated switch as a night light ... it turns nothing on except the LED.  Red illuminates the interior of the pup fine and doesn't keep everyone awake.  LED doesn't draw the power down.  Need more, mount a couple.

Identical to this switch (but you can find 5 for under $10 shipped):

I ordered some LED bulbs from http://www.superbrightleds.com.  I got six led 921 bulbs.  Since I wasn't sure on what color worked best, I ordered blue, amber and red.  The red seems to be a little much, so I will probably use either the blue or amber and we'll most likely give the DD her choice.  I haven't tried it out when it was completly dark, so that may factor into it too.

We use glow bracelets.  They're a lot of fun before the kids go to bed.

We also use a few solar lights outside to illuminate tripping hazards.

We went out on our first trip since I put the new lights in.  The blue lights were too bright, so I put in the amber led's.  These made a nice soft light and the dd liked it.  I even took out the white lights in one of the fixtures and put in amber for us to use as we are getting ready for bed.
