Insert using Picasa?

I give up.  I have been trying to do this for two days now.  I serched for and found detailed instuctions for inserting pics. For some reason I can not get it to work.
I have uploaded pictures to Picasa.
I select a picture, click on "Link to this photo", select size (Medium 400px), click on "Image only (no link), highlight the link, Ctrl-C to copy, go back to PUX forum, click on Insert image, and hit Ctrl-V to insert the link.  The link does appear between the two sets of brackets. When I preview I see the text I have just entered and the link, no picture.  If I post it I just get a blank page.
