I just booked a site for 2 weeks from now. I have never stayed there before and wanted to see if anyone on here had any comments or thoughts on the CG. I will be in town for the last Clemson home football game of the year. Would love to get in some hiking up to the top of Table Rock... Thanks in advance.

Very nice park, stayed there earlier this summer. Water & electric , no sewer. A little far from Clemson, Devils Fork state park is a lot closer. Table rock has better hiking trails. If you are in to Flea markets, try the one in Pickens on Wednesday morning (huge).

I always loved going to Table Rock as I grew up not too far from there. Just like the other posters stated, you will enjoy your stay there.

My wife and I stayed at Oconee State Park a couple of weeks ago and LOVED it!!  We have a popup and the weather was bad, but the area is gorgeous!

We were in NE Georgia, Moccasin Creek SP, 10-5 thru 10-9.  Weather was OK to great...

Hey fatherof5,

Table Rock State Park is a pretty decent park.  In my opinion, there are some better campgrounds in the area and definitely some better ones closer to Clemson.  (I actually usually stay at Twin Lakes Campground when I go to the games.  I've even stayed at Devil's Fork State Park a couple of times just because of Lake Jocassee.)

As far as hiking, Table Rock is pretty good.  The hike up to the top of Table Rock is pretty difficult as there is a decent amount of elevation gain.  I don't think I would take any young kids.  There are plenty of other hikes in the park as well.

Also, if you have the time, I would check out Caesar's Head State Park.  The overlook at the parking lot is awesome.  If you can, do the hike to Raven Cliff Falls.  With the leaves off the trees the view of the falls is great.

Twin Lakes was our first choice as we have stayed there before... however we needed a larger site (Avalon takes up 30 ft) but they didnt have any site big enough for us. So I had to go to my second choice = Table Rock. I have been to TRSP before but it has been years and I did not camp, just visited the lake. Thanks for the input... hopefully Clemson will finish out the season on a good note. This should be our last trip of the year until the Spring. Oh to the poster who said they stayed at Mocassin Creek SP in Georgia... we stayed there earlier this year, in July... really liked it, great hosts.
