I thought I would try to start a model specific string. We've camped something like 4 trips for 6 nights so far, & I think I've got it pretty much figured out. I know that 90% of the stuff on the forum applies accross the board to most all models and brands, but I'd love to read anything specific to my model... I've searched and haven't come up with much.
I was reading another post earlier & somebody asked this about a different brand / model, and it got me to thinking the same thing.... I haven't seen my model mentioned very much on here.
Are there any Freedom 1910 model owners out there?
Any model specific issues, tips n' tricks, stories, etc....?

Well we have the 1940 mode, and love it!
The only problem we had was the canvas at one end neede to be re-adjusted. Being we bought it new, the dealer took care of it.
Other than a few SPUTS, my fault, have had problem free camping. Well atleast till last time when we were attacked by a swarm of flying, biting ants!!! But I don't think they can read, so I don't think it was because we were in a Rockwood, but I can't prove it!!!

I googled your 1940 model. Almost the same, with maybe even a slightly better layout than mine.
I bought mine used, so I took what i found. I haven't been to a Rockwood dealer, but i imaging all the freedom series is about the same. Maybe i should have started this thread for Rockwood Freedom, or maybe even all rockwood pup.

I have a 07 Freedom 1980, bought it new, love it. I picked the 1980 because of the floor plan, and they had it in stock...

Have any of you figured out a good use for the little floorless cabinet under the cook top?
..... or a good mod to make it useable?

Previously I had a Freedom 1940 LTD. I loved it for 4 summers -- now we've gone to the 'twilight' side. LOL!
I don't know what cabinet you're talking about, or even if I HAD one, but here's what I did with my cabinets:
1. The large on to the right of the door as you come in -- I bought 3 small wastebaskets @ Dollar Tree. They fit in there side-by-side. I stored foil, plastic wrap, and ziplock bags in one, marshmallow forks, bar-b-q tongs, rope, etc. in another. The 3rd was for paper plates, bowls and cups.
2. The wheel well cabinet is where I stored my hoses and dishpan.
3. The cabinet with shelves is where all other cooking stuff and sugar, coffee, filters, etc. went
4. The little TINY cabinet under the furnace -- I got 2 good-sealing small flat plastic boxes (From Dollar Tree). I measured first to be sure they'd fit. Those were our 'medicine cabinet' with gauze, bandaids, alcohol pads, ointment, etc. plus a bottle of hydrogen peroxide.
I enjoyed my Pup; now I'm enjoying my HTT!

We also have a 1940 LTD. Bought it used in July and have camped 11 nights so far. Still tweaking the storage a bit and have a few mods to make but it's been great so far. Also need to quiet the furnace but that seems to be a common problem.

Now I'd be interested in ideas of how to do that! DW doesn't like to camp when it's too cold so we only use the furnace a couple times a year, but it sure is loud...

For the furnace noise, we use an electric ceramic heater at night. There are 2 good reasons: first, it's a lot quieter and second, I place it so it's sends the warm air towards the bunk we're sleeping in. But it's true the propane heater is very noisy.

I own a '05 Fredom 2318G bought used and after I fixed the small problems from previous owner, broken awning arm, missing tenstion stop cable. I have had only one major issue and it really didn't hamper the trip. My full door would not meet the roof side of the camper so I had gap of about an inch but with the purchase of the BAL leveler usually used on the dinnette slide end it is all good. I love my camper and even my wife who was at first hot hip to sleeping in a PUP is now enjoying it.

I use an oil filled heater. Using that along with the heated matresses means that I can keep the furnace down so low that it very rarely comes on.

Electric heat isn't an option for us as we dry camp most of the time. I've isolated the noise to the sheet metal case that surounds the heater. Now if only I could find a heat resistent product similar to Dynamat to dampen the vibration.
